Protest Wal-Mart on May Day
This May Day, activists will be protesting one of the places that many of us agree is the bane of the country—Wal-Mart. As many strides as the company has made lately in terms of organic food, sustainability, and philanthropy, it still doesn’t do the thing we all want it to do—pay its workers fairly and sell things that weren’t made through child or slave labor.
We’re constantly told that they don’t do this because of their cheap prices; however, recently I heard that it would take less than 50 cents per customer, per trip to the store, to pay the employees a fair wage where they could have benefits and healthcare. I’m definitely willing to pay such a minimal price and I know most other Americans would be willing, too. Read more about Protest Wal-Mart on May Day
